Huge thanks to Fred Mitchell and all KYMBA volunteers helping staff the event!

Briar Hill ParkTrail Day: Saturday, April 18

Briar Hill Park: Thanks to Eric George’s work with the park, KYMBA Louisville now has approval to work here, and we have our first official trail day on the calendar. Volunteers are needed so be on the lookout for the event post about this one so you can lock it in on your calendar. Focus areas include improving drain issues and making trails more hike and bike friendly.

Volunteers must register via the Waverly volunteer sign‑up page Big thanks to Brian Borgmann and Jimmy Flaherty for the volunteer work they do on this trail. If either of you want to be the trail steward or know someone that would be a good fit let me know. We need one for this great trail system.

Trail Days & Trail UpdatesCherokee Park Saturday, May 9

Brian Sandmann is coordinating with Olmsted Parks for a Cherokee trail day, including a cookout and group ride.

Think Franks and Berms with a trail day mixed in. Once the time is confirmed, details will be shared on social media. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Seneca Skills Area (Discussion Only)
Seneca is open to discussing a small skills area with progressive drops, but nothing is approved.
If you’re interested in helping develop a proposal (location, feature concepts, user impacts). We need a few more volunteers to make this happen.

Fort DuffieldMTB Trail Day: TBD

Trail Steward Derek Fetko could use more help keeping Fort Duffield awesome. If you ride here regularly and want to give back, please volunteer.

Hiking Trail Workday: Thursday, April 30th hosted by Vince Carman.
Once hiking trail projects are complete, we will officially have the dedicated downhill MTB‑only zone in one section of the park.

The new trail called Colonel Senders is up and running good along with the new Jump line! Please share pics and videos on your socials of Fort Duffield so we can get more tires on this amazing trail system!

Silo Center Bike Park / Turkey Run Park
There are no trail day updates to share at this time.

  • Turkey Run Trails: Open and riding well.
  • Silo Center Bike Park: Opening status is TBD. The park typically opens in early May, and we’ll share updates as soon as they’re available.

New Albany – Future Bike Park

The New Albany bike park project continues to move in the right direction, though there is no official start date yet. The city recently requested—and received—a letter of support from KYMBA Louisville and appears to be pursuing grant funding to help move the project forward.

If you’d like to be considered for future volunteer opportunities on this project, please reach out and let us know you’re interested.

O’Bannon Woods Mountain Bike Club
Trail work days are scheduled on the following Sundays, starting at 10:00 AM, with volunteers meeting at the pool parking lot:

  • April 12, 2026
  • April 26, 2026

For the latest details or weather updates, please visit the O’Bannon Woods Mountain Bike Club Facebook page. Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated.

Otter CreekIMBA Planning Update

Our recent IMBA meeting with members of the public and local officials went very well. Several attendees were excited to see the proposed trail plans, and many were pleasantly surprised by the downhill riding zone, including the option for vehicle-assisted shuttling.

Interest and momentum around the project continue to build. If you’d like to learn more about volunteering at Otter Creek or our ongoing and future plans for the park, please reach out to Eric Schweighauser.

Deam Lake (IN)

To move forward, we need:

  • Volunteers
  • DNR‑certified sawyers
  • Someone experienced with trail flagging

Our first goal is to build a short, beginner‑friendly hike‑and‑bike‑only trail—but we need volunteers to make it happen. If you live nearby, you already know what an incredible opportunity this park represents.

Don’t let it pass by. Even a small group of dedicated volunteers can make a huge impact and help turn these plans into reality. More info on Dream Lake

When reporting an issue, please enable location sharing so crews can respond quickly.

There will be a more official announcement in the near future once we work the bugs out, but we thought you were cool enough to know now.  https://orv.flowfeed.app/
